An Old town Key West home, located in the Historic District and just one half a block off Duval Street. Guests are within walking distance of restaurants, the Atlantic Ocean, Southernmost Point of Key West and our sunset piers. All lovingly restored and cared for, this charming 1 and a half story home is beautifully decorated with warm tropical colors and features bamboo hardwood floors. This home features three bedrooms and two baths.
The primary bedroom is on the first floor with ensuite bath. Upstairs two bedrooms adjoin the second bath. There's a total of Three TV's in the house. The living room has French doors which open to your own private deck and garden with a heat-optional, lagoon style, black bottom, dip pool surrounded by lush vegetation. There is an outdoor table and nearby gas grill for outside/open air dining.

Coconut Cabana was the perfect retreat. Ideally located steps from Duvall and the water, with a lovely little pool and quality beds and bedding. I recommend renting a golf cart -- there was space in the front of the house to park and it's a quick zip to all the Key West attractions. And Rent Key West was super helpful -- they let us store our luggage after checkout when our flight was moved at the last minute.

We enjoyed our place! Great accommodations. Only complaint, pool heater doesn't do a good job and the deck really needed cleaning. Gas grill may need checked, may be a safety issue.

Great experience for our family trip. House is with in walking distance to many restaurants and bars. Dean and staff our great to work with and very helpful before and during our stay. Beautiful House But Sub Par Service

I cannot say enough about Coconut Cabana. This house was perfectly appointed and immaculate. It had everything we could possibly need and then some. The kitchen was perfectly stocked as were the bathrooms. The beds/pillows were so comfortable and clean. Location cannot be beat. The heated pool was a perfect spot to relax day and night - too bad they forgot to turn on the pool prior to arrival so it was unusable for the first 24 hours of our stay despite the fact that we paid extra for it. Rent Key West lacked in communication skills and follow through. I found them to be be inconsiderate and to have an unaplogetic attitude once they had received their payment. I will not book from them again and I would not recommend.

Perfect Home in the Heart of Key West

This home met all of our expectations. It was located in the perfect spot where everything was within walking distance and seemed to be a very safe area. The home was the perfect size and very comfortable for our family of 5 (tall people need to be careful when upstairs as the ceiling is a slanted at the head of the stairs). The home has everything you need in the kitchen including trash bags and paper towels. There’s a collection of seasonings in the cupboards so take a peek first before you head to the grocery store. The beds were comfortable and the home overall very clean. In the back yard area, you will be sure to have visits from the local Roosters and chickens and a friendly iguana will come say hello from time to time. The pool area is a perfect place to drink a cup of coffee in the morning while listening to the roosters crow or a nice place to sit during a late night thunderstorm. We were very happy with our home choice and will definitely use Rent Key West Rental agency again. They were very friendly, helpful and professional. We had a clogged sink in the bathroom at one point and they addressed the maintenance issue promptly. My family enjoyed our time so much that they all want to make it a yearly tradition.

We are Nuts about Coconut Cabana!

It’s surprising that as many times as we’ve been to or ridden our bikes past Banana Café and Abbondanza, we never happened to actually go down Louisa Street, so we never even knew about Coconut Cabana. This trip was unusual in that we had five people total, and the house was just perfect for that. Two bedrooms upstairs with a shared full bath, and a master bedroom downstairs with its own full bath. (Water pressure in the showers was great by the way!) The main part of the house has a great open layout, decorated with original paintings by local and Cuban artists. There’s a very private back patio, surrounded by palms, and nice cool dunking pool. The house is down at the quieter end of Duval (and it’s in the middle of the block, so it’s quieter still), and you’re surrounded by great places to eat and imbibe... and the other end of Duval (Mallory Square, for instance) is just a handful of minutes away by bike.The house itself was super clean, comfy beds (all sheets, towels and pool towels are provided - and are very nice quality), and a full-size washer and dryer... makes a big difference to not have to pack a full week’s worth of clothes. The kitchen was very well equipped - ice maker too! Smart TVs throughout the house... A/C worked perfectly, plus there are ceiling fans in all bedrooms and living room. Keyless coded front door, so no keys to lose (which my family is famous for). Wonderful management at Rent Key West! We will definitely rent this little gem again!

This home was perfect in every way!!! Especially during Hurricane Elsa..This home was worth every penny.. sheltered during the hurricane.. the winds and rain were a bit scary but the area was sheltered and secure.. it was in a perfect place to stay.. walking distance to everything.. Food, drink and groceries.. we rented an golf cart which was perfect .. working with John and Joyce was wonderful.. emails from Pylie provided us comfort during our stay.. great group of professionals!! What more could u ask for!!!

Key west June 2021

There were six of us who stayed in this house first part of June 2021. House is very clean and look just as pictured. Street parking was never a problem. Plenty of bath towels and beach towels. Hot water never seem to run out. Beds were all very very comfortable . Kitchen had all the utensils we needed for making meals and Grill was clean and ready to go with a full tank of gas. This home was about 3 1/2 miles from the airport and walking distance to just about anything you wanted to do on the island. I did notice a few things with the home that could be improved on. The lights for the outside area and inside of the pool we're not functioning and the pool light is actually floating freely in the pool away from the wall. There is a mango tree out back that drops huge mangoes you have to watch out for. If you get hit with one you will not like it. The pool filter only runs for half the day and sometimes it has bit of debris in it. The deck needs a hose so you can hose off the mess from the mangoes. There is a rock waterfall on the backside of the pool in the photos but the plumbing is disconnected from it and it no longer operates. All of the plastic chairs on the deck are cracked right where your thighs sit and can pinch and leave blood blisters. There is only one thermostat in the house and the upstairs stays quite a bit warmer with the downstairs staying quite cool. There's a very nice wood staircase going upstairs but it does not have handrail. Overall I gave this house 4 stars I was very happy with it. With a few improvements could very easily be a five-star home. Would recommend and stay again.

Coconut Cabana a gem of a little house in a fantastic location

Coconut Cabana was the perfect place for a Key West vacation...away from the noise and crowds of northern Duval Street, but still an easy walk if you wanted to go there. The house was clean, the AC kickin' and the kitchen well stocked if you want to stay in and cook. However, with amazing bar/restaurants like Banana Cafe, La Te Da and La Gringote literally steps away from the house, we didn't eat in much. The back patio and pool were beyond charming; in addition the coconut trees, a old large mango tree literally showered us with fresh, delicious fruit every day. KW Rentals were responsive and helpful, although we didn't have any issues. Comfortable beds, pillows, clean, crisp sheets and plenty of bath and beach towels made the stay even better. Just down from the south (quiet) end of Duval St on a quiet side street and very close walking distance to so many fun places and restaurants. And the backyard was a quiet, secluded oasis. Coconut Cabana is located at upper Duval Street which made walking everyday very convenient. Adorable little house. We stayed 6 adults in the house, before arrival the twin beds had been converted to a king bed which was great. House had an alarm and digital key, which made it very easy for us. Pool is very small, but large enough for a few people at a time. There is no designated parking, street parking when available we didnt have an issue finding parking on the block.The kitchen provided enough pots, could use a platter or two and a few more forks. we like to cook breakfast and we stopped back for lunch everyday. Overall fabulous. Afforded us time to comfortably visit with each other and re-explore the Keys from our childhood vantage. Much has changed. I hope with all my bohemian heart that you all make it through Irma. Couple of tweeks: may want to add a net over pool to keep Iguana poop out or make your pool guy more "on call." You do have a very young roach population (saw 2) coming from under the sink or from behind the refrigerator. Cable in second bedroom front side of street does not receive full cable programing.Would be nice to offer a starter kit to customers: basket of basics...coffee, cream, fruit...bar of soap or a shop service with a defined list.

We just returned from a week at the Coconut Cabana with our family of 5 which includes 3 teenagers. It suited our needs perfectly, the location was great and we walked to everything, only moving our rental car once. The house was perfect and had everything we needed, with the exception of enough towels. One per person is not enough and beach towels that are expected to stay in house should be explained beforehand. The only other complaint was that the cleaning staff showed up before we even checked out and waited on the front porch, which seemed a little much.Otherwise, Key West and the Coconut Cabana were paradise!

The house was ideally located near upper Duval on a very quiet street. Restaurants were just steps away from the house and a walk downtown was enjoyable as we could stop at local shops along the way. Check In was smooth and the staff woman who checked us in was very personable and helpful. The house amenities were great as we had a washer and dryer and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, drink glasses, etc. the beds were extremely comfortable and the bathrooms were spotless. Stayed here with my husband , daughter ,19 and 15 year old son.The house was as described , well maintained and comfortable. It is in an excellent location, just off Duval so close to all attractions, yet peaceful with street parking. The concierge service was excellent recommending lots of local activities , restaurants etc. awe had a lovely holiday and hope to return at some point.

Great vacation rental!

We LOVED staying at Coconut Cabana, and definitely recommend! From our initial email with Rent Key West Vacations, to turning in our keys at the end of our stay, we had a wonderful experience. The house is so charming, yet fully updated with amenities. We loved the outdoor space, and getting in the dipping pool! We enjoyed visiting the Butterfly and Nature Conservatory and the Hemingway House, which are just a few blocks away. A lot of well-known bars and restaurants are at the other end of Duval Street, however the walk is manageable. Overall, we had a great vacation, and would definitely stay at Coconut Cabana again!

2015 Key West vacation.

We went to Key West as a family vacation and loved every minute we spent there and at our rental home. The home was clean, convenient, and the dipping pool was a welcoming sight on those hot afternoons and evenings. I would recommend this home to others and also look forward to renting it again as we venture there again. The management company kept in contact with us to see how everything was going and helped us with the check out procedures, very professional.

Perfect spot in Key West

What can I say. Our week in Key West was as close to perfect as we thought we could get. Rent Key West was suggested to me by a friend who has used the service regularly. They made it a breeze. The Coconut Cabana was the best. Great location, well appointed, so comfortable we hated to leave. The location was perfect for us. Very quiet and easy walk to were ever we wanted to go. Would absolutely recommend Deuces Off the Hook for dinner or breakfast. Awesome spot. Only disappointment was that we couldn't stay another week to explore and enjoy more! Fabulous trip.

Perfect Location

This was our second time staying here. The house is clean, quiet and in an ideal location, at the upper end of Duval. Withing walking distance of just about everything and the management staff is so helpful. Thank you and hope to visit soon!Manager's ResponseWe are hoping, based on this guest's comments and their desire to return to Coconut Cabana, that a "1" meant #1! Or they just don't want anyone to take their week in paradise! Unfortunately the scale goes the opposite way here, so you'll just have to stay here to decide which way it should go!

Coconut Cabana was a perfect retreat

Me and some friends stayed at the coconut cabana for our fantasy football draft and it was perfect. A block from Duval, granted its on the southern part but its not a bad walk to Mallory square if you're not in a hurry and since you're in KW why would you be. The house was perfect, the grill and dipping pool were nice little extras. I totally recommend this place to anyone visiting key west.

Great Time at Coconut Cabana!

We had a wonderful stay at Coconut Cabana. It was perfect for the four of us. It had beautiful furnishings and every amenity we needed (and then some). Perfect location, too! Banana Cafe (1/2 block away) on the corner of Louisa and Duval has a great breakfast! I am so glad we took Dean's suggestion of renting bicycles for the week. The only time we moved the car was to go to the grocery store and once to Blue Heaven for a key lime pie we had was raining or we would have used the bicycles for that, too. I would suggest the Coconut Cabana to anyone coming to Key West.

Adorable House

Sweet house on a quiet street. Very clean, beds comfortable, kitchen well equipped, pool just big enough for guests. Free Wi-Fi a big plus. Would have loved some more comfortable chairs in the living area (we had 2 days of heavy rain and were confined inside at times). Rental agent very pleasant and helpful. Recommend renting bikes from this location.

May vacation in Key West

The only "problems" were trivial: we had a 6'4" young man with us who couldn't go upstairs without bumping his head (we just made him stay downstairs!). We also thought there was a need for more towel racks, as we had 3 people sharing one bathroom. Everything else was wonderful. Modern kitchen, Wi-fi, nicely decorated, convenient to everything we wanted to do. We also appreciated the washer/dryer.

A comfortable house

The house was very well decorated and cosy. The beds were comfortable and the linen and towels were good quality. The kitchen had everything you would need, a huge oven and a dishwasher. The bathrooms were small but well designed with large showers. The position of the house was great, just off the main street but at the quiet end so no night time noise. The terrace was realy nice with a small heated pool and an outdoor grill.A well kept and welcoming house.

DOESN'T GET MUCH BETTER THAN THIS!!

We love the house and we had a great time in Key West. The nights were quiet and it was in a perfect location that was close to everything. We were there 2 weeks and walked everywhere. We thought the house had so much charm, the bed linens and mattress were so very comfortable. The house was very clean when we arrived. The showers were great with lots of hot water. We enjoyed the outside dining and the pool was warm and clean as well. I thought good instructions & information were left for questions that we had. All my guests enjoyed the house. There were only 2 wine glasses and with a phone call they brought 6 more the next day. There were no champagne or martini glasses and were told that they could not provide us with those, we went out and bought some and left them in the house as they were too fragile to travel with. Our only disappointments were the condition of the dishes, almost every plate, bowl, cup are chipped and cracked. The house is advertised to accommodate 6 and we found only 5 coffee cups and 5 or less of other dishes. At over $8,000 for the two weeks we would have like to have seen the dishes in better condition. We hope to be back next year!

Great experience

Loved the cozy cottage and location. We had six adults--probably better suited for two couples. We didn't spend a lot of time at the house, but we really enjoyed the house for breakfasts by the pool and the proximity to everything. We biked or walked everywhere--no car needed.
